![]() I also joined a group to take on Ashava, a world boss encounter designed for 12 players. Outside settlements, most of my impromptu encounters with other players revolved around public events either in progress or just finished (annoying). It's the kind of thing you'd expect from an MMO - perhaps in a city set within Blizzard's own World of Warcraft. I saw players running around Kyovashad, the city in the Fractured Peaks region, popping into and out of portals, visiting vendors and milling about. This isn’t a revolutionary concept, this is how PC gaming has been for 40 years.If you played Diablo 4 during any of the various playtests Blizzard has held ahead of the game's early June launch, you'll probably have run into another player or two. Even Steam allows me to play games in offline mode. I remember when they started adding a online security checks for games such as Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, but that was only during startup to make sure you actually owned the game, but the constant online connection seems completely unnecessary. I’m hoping I can re-watch the cutscene when I get back into the game. I got as far as the hermit cutscene after the first village and the Internet connection dropped right during the cutscene. I am able to play, but my Internet connection keeps dropping and I get kicked from the game. I’m guessing that is when a lot of changes to the franchise were made. I only played Diablo III for a few hours. ![]() ![]() The original Diablo I played offline exclusively from beginning to end. I remember they added multiplayer via LAN back in Diablo II, but I only played it that way once. I’ve always considered Diablo to be a single player RPG. ![]() I have a nice gaming laptop I use when I travel, so I haven’t had problems playing other game such as Crusader Kings III or Hogwarts Legacy (on high), so I didn’t anticipate having a problem running Diablo IV. No, I didn’t read the requirements before purchased it. ![]()
